ALTERNATIVE presented at health promotion event in Turin
Professor Gianluca Ciardelli from Politecnico di Torino sharing insights on cardiotoxicity
ALTERNATIVE project coordinator Politecnico di Torino contributed to a regional health promotion event on the Piazza San Carlo in Turin called “Just the Woman I Am”, which took place on 4-6 March 2022. The main part of the event was a 5 km walk/run for everyone, which aimed to raise funds for public cancer research, promote prevention and healthy lifestyles as well as foster inclusion and gender equality. The main event was associated with a series of satellite events, such as public talks, medical consultations and testing. In the talks, universities located in the Piedmont region and research centres presented their research activities related to health issues.
During the three-day event, team members from Politecnico di Torino presented the ALTERNATIVE project to the interested public, explaining the advantages of alternative and innovative methods for cardiotoxicity evaluation. In this context, the team explained in an accessible way, how to realize a cardiac tissue model, in order to protect humans as well as animals.
