Project ALTERNATIVE takes center stage at the WBC – World Biomaterials Congress (WBC2024)
From May 26-31, 2024 Project ALTERNATIVE Project coordinator Dr. Gianluca Ciardelli , Professor in Bioengineering, at Politecnico di Torino participated in the WBC – World Biomaterials Congress (WBC2024) in Daegu, 🌍 South Korea. The theme of the congress was on “Convergence in Biomaterials: a vision for the future of healthcare”. The event was supported by Korean Society for Biomaterials (KSBM) and The International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUSBSE) aimed to foster exchange of recent developments in biomedical application of biomaterials among academic and technical researchers in the academy, clinics, and industry of medical society. Project ALTERNATIVE is actively working on this topic and highlights of the work were presented at the event tiltled “New frontiers in biomaterials design and processing towards more reliable in vitto organ models”. This session engaged the audience and who were keen to know about the project deeply. It was a proud moment for Gianluca at the event as he was elected “Fellow, Biomaterials Science and Engineering” (FBSE). This facilitation is a motivation for him and his peer to continue and contribute to quality work. Finally, he delivered a poster presentation on recent findings in Alternative.We look forward to making progress and sharing updates from the project at such events.
