Project “ALTERNATIVE First Review meeting”
On June 14th, 2023, Project ALTERNATIVE had its first review meeting in presence of the Project Officer from the European commisssion, Versatile Experts and the project Consortium.
The meeting was held in online mode with the agenda to review & assess progress of the project from the start until M18. Project ALTERNATIVE is one of the unique projects that develops an innovative platform for assessing the cardiotoxicity of chemicals. The novel platform will enable regulators and industry to identify, quantify and prevent cardiotoxic co-exposures to industrial chemicals and pharmaceuticals in a cost-effective way.
The meeting took off with a briefing of the process from the project officer, introduction of Experts and consortium partners. This was followed by the Presentations from project coordinator and technical coordinator. Their presentations provided an overview on the need, challenges, state of art, how the project is filling in the gaps and opening the way to chemical mixtures with new vision that benefits the society.
Work in Project ALTERNATIVE is distributed in nine workpackages, therefore each workpackage presented summarizing the process followed, progress made, work accomplished, challenges overcomed, lessons learned and the next steps to be followed in coming months.
The interactions and discussions were quite intense and received positive remarks from the reviewers which motivated the team ALTERNATIVE and we look forward to continue to contribute and collaborate diligently.
